At the end of the day, while I intended to continue the strip moving forward, the story line I had begun with Evil Dandy becoming President gave me super hyper writers block, and rather than properly resolve it, I panicked and stepped away again, from the strip.
In that time, I've been working hard on not only my print comic, "The Wellkeeper", but also on a variety of projects in comics. I did back up stories for the Image Comic, "The Perhapanauts" and the IDW book "Star Mage". I did art for the 3rd issue of the CAE Studios comic, "Joshua Black", joined CAE as a creative director AND started a regular gig as the co-writer and artist for an upcoming vampire comic called "Carpe Noctem."
I've been busy.
In that time, though, I let Dandy & Co. slip into yet another pointless hiatus. So, a few weeks ago, I made a hard decision. I went back 5 strips to the strip shown above, and cut it off. THAT'S the official end strip for the webcomic as it was. And in a weird way, I'm happier this way. I didn't create some epic final chapter, but that would be so... FINAL.
THis way, the door remains forever open anytime I want to play with these toys. Dandy Q. Dog and his friends are free.
As for that storyline with the Evils? It's in story limbo. I may never go back to it. I might make it a standalone adventure. Who knows. But for now, the strip is done. I'm thankful for everyone who enjoyed it and kept with me through all these shake ups. Thanks!
Now, what does this mean for the site? Really, nothing. I'm thinking on re-running key stories in blocks. I've got some ideas for short stories. I'm even pondering animation again.
But that's the GOOD part about all of this, again. The road ahead is clear now. No more roadblocks and clutter to free. It's a brand new world!
