While not her first appearance, this shows just where recurring villain Calpurnia is at in the story. She once was responsible for a radically extreme version of Pumpkin's Animal's Rights Group, but only for Cats.
This led her to a failed attempt to take over the country using robot cats and mind control, but was thwarted by Dandy and her ex-lover and Dandy's now-deceased older brother, Snuffles.
These days, her villainy is a bit more subdued, but her placement as Bernard's Grandmothers "pet" bodes ill for the future, to be sure.
