This is one of the problems with running re-runs: They often reference OTHER stories. In this case, the prior storyline where Dandy and Bernard went to Pumpkin's "Dog Rights Rally", where the angry dogs bit and attacked Bernard and it was revealed that Maryweather had been dating Snuffles, a long time adversary of Dandy.
