Guiteau the Line

I admit that everything I know about the assassination of President Garfield comes from "Assassination Vacation" by Sarah Vowell. It's a great book, fyi.

Also, Google helped me determine that he was ACTUALLY shot on a Saturday. And it was technically a train station lobby in Washington, not a "Subway", but I needed a word that rhymed with Monday, dagnabbit!

  1. I've actually been to his gravesite. (I went as part of a Summer school group outing.)

  2. Kewl. Have your read "Assassination Vacation"? Visiting the graves and historical sites of presidential assassins is what it's about and it's really good and funny.
