Magic Boy and the Impenetrable Queue of DOOM

Hey there, Dandyfans! Did you know that today, July 31st, is the canonical BIRTHDAY of famous boy #Wizard HARRY POTTER? Yeah, according to the books, he would be turning 37 today, which is pretty wild.

That said, I thought I would take this opportunity to celebrate the bespectacled ones #birthday by running a fun 6 page adventure from the #DandyandCompany #Archives called: MAGIC BOY and the IMPENETRABLE QUEUE OF DOOM, chronicling Dandy and Maryweather's attempts to get her favorite authors autograph on a thinly veiled #parody of #HarryPotter, "Magic Boy". (Clever, aren't I?)

So, for #HarryPotterDay I present to you, in it's entirety a 6 page Dandy & Co. Adventure to enjoy!

Dandy & Company: Short Cuts 1

Check it out. I'm developing a series of short, rough animated cartoons featuring all of your favorite characters from DANDY & COMPANY! More details to come as I more forward with a few more of these.

The idea is that I would really love to be able to tell a longer story with these guys in ANIMATED form, but need a bit more practice to refine what I can realistically pull off. And that's where these new shorts will come in. I'm keeping them rough for now, but hopefully they will also be FUN. Hope you dig them!

Now, as I was writing this strip in early April, this was totally the case. We had Snow on a Saturday and it was in the 70's by that Monday, which inspired this overall gag. It's also the MOST I will ever dip into "politics" in this strip.

Audrey is, in many ways, a stand in for ME in the strip and as such, she often has WAY more enthusiasm for creative projects then any of her friends. I can easily say that this is something that happened a LOT to me as a kid when I wanted to try and make movies and the like and was met with apathy. Now I draw my own comics and everyone else can suck it! lol
